A Colorful Midcentury Charmer

In early 2021, my clients began looking for their forever home in the popular suburb of Edmonds, WA. After months of looking, they found this Midcentury charmer tucked next to a park with peek-a-boo views of the Puget Sound. The house presented a few challenges to overcome before moving in --- unfashionable bathrooms, a closed off kitchen and much-needed upgrades from the dated aesthetic. Not ones to shy away from color, my clients were excited to re-invigorate the home with playful pops of color throughout.

“Living in our house surrounded by Amy’s designs feels like being on vacation. She creates more than just a pretty room — she creates a vibe within the space. And for us that vibe has been beautiful without being too precious, interesting without being trendy. Peaceful. Inviting. Comfortable. When we started our design journey we knew we wanted something different from the gray and white we were seeing everywhere else. We wanted a playful home full of color, yet timeless to hold its appeal over the years. Amy really delivered on that and more giving us teals and pinks and lots of pattern that all worked together in harmony. In addition to her creativity, she’s also meticulously organized. She was the one person during the remodel on top of all the details. When we have friends over, it’s always the same reaction, “wow”. Even after living here day to day, that’s still our reaction too.
